Denise has shown a passion for freedom in movement from a young age, enjoying dance, cycling and skating. It is the body’s ability to express creatively and connect fully with the present moment that captured Denise’s heart and strengthened her value for health and vitality. She continues to enjoy dance in a social context and has recently performed in several dance routines.
Denise first started a Yoga practice as a Zenthai Shiatsu trainee finding a deeper understanding of her body’s innate wisdom and a reconnection to her true essence. She was inspired to share all aspects of yoga including movement, breathe, meditation and Ancient Wisdom. Upon graduating as a Zenthai Shiatsu Therapist Denise enrolled in her first teacher training at Akhanda Yoga Australia facilitated by Sadashiv (Nick) Bradley and Radha Rani, affiliated teachers of the World Conscious Yoga Family, established by Yogrishi Vishvketu and Chetana Panwar in Rishikesh, India who esteems the great Saint Baba Prem Nath of the ancient linage of Nath for his teachings in traditional yoga, and yogis Swami Yogeshvarand and Baba Hari Nam for their teachings in yoga, naturopathy and Ayurveda.
Denise offered her first yoga class in 2015 to a local community in the Northern Gold Coast and has since then facilitated classes and workshops at various community events and retreats. Denise also teaches young children yoga in her teaching roles within schools and Kindergarten.
Denise’s yoga practice is inspired by the traditional Akhanda Yoga teachings of Yogrishi Vishvketu, and the heartfelt ZenThai Flow teachings focused around the 5 Elements of Chinese Medicine, by Gwyn Williams. Denise guides students to explore movement in many forms: hatha, flow, play, stillness, breathe and mindfulness.
From 2014 Denise has been involved with the Zenthai Shiatsu community as a student, facilitator and therapist. Denise offers Zenthai Shiatsu Therapy from her home clinic, mobile services and, at markets and festivals.
